An Introduction to the SCCS Newsletter
The Student Campaign for Child Survival mobilizes students to educate, organize and advocate around the issue of children's health worldwide. Over 10 million children die each year from easily preventable and treatable diseases. We are the only grassroots movement of college students lobbying on behalf of these children.
Today, student members of the campaign educate on campus and in their communities to inspire the support and political will needed to address the crisis of child mortality. This semester, SCCS has promoted education about malaria, support of the Global Fund, and action to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
Through direct advocacy, grassroots expansion, and GlobaLocal actions, SCCS reaches out to the communities and politicians who have the power to address this crisis of child mortality. We must acknowledge our responsibilities to an increasingly global community. We cannot allow millions of children to die each and every year when we have the knowledge and resources to prevent those deaths.
